Whitney is old school. Don't let his girly name fool you. He's a throw
back to the old days when a guy would sky you on Saturday afternoon, drink
you under the table and steal your girlfriend Saturday night, then sky you
again on Sunday morning.
Because once that ibuprofen kicks in, he's a force to be reckoned with.
His legendary backhand hucks devastate his opponents. His run downs on the
pull terrify small children and dogs.
There's talk of his monster layout D of yesteryear, the block they still
talk about in whispered huddles. The one that saved the game, that made his
name legendary.
His opponents claim he tripped.
Whitney was clearly a snake charmer in a previous life, as he'll mesmerize
you with his slow motion forehand fakes, then break you like stale chocolate.
Worst injuries:
Went up over two Amherst High School offensive players, D'd a disc, got hit
in the air by my own teammate, cartwheeled down and landed on my arm, broken
the humerous below the shoulder socket--6 weeks in a sling.
Ran down on D, put a mark on my man with the disc, he throws the big
backhand, follows through into my head. I get a concussion. 3 days being out
of it.
Ran down on D, put a mark on my man with the disc, he throws the big
backhand, follows through into my head. I get a broken nose. The doctor
said, "It's straight enough for me if it's straight enough for you."
